PDF to SVG

Convert each page of a PDF into a real, scalable SVG - vector paths and text stay vector, with a live in-browser preview and a per-page fidelity report.

Converts every page to a genuine vector SVG - real drawing operations become native SVG paths, text can stay selectable or be outlined into paths for guaranteed visual fidelity, and embedded images come along as embedded raster content. A scanned, image-only page still converts cleanly - it's wrapped as a single image inside an SVG shell rather than failing. Each page's fidelity (full vector, a mix of vector and raster, or raster-only) is reported so you know what you're getting before you download. Only the uploaded file is read; nothing is modified.

Simple workflow

How it works

  1. 1

    Add PDFs

Add one or more PDFs to convert to SVG.

  2. 2

    Preview

Step through pages, comparing the original render against the live SVG output.

  3. 3

    Download

Download each page's SVG, or a combined multi-page sprite.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting to SVG keep my text selectable?

By default, yes - text stays as real, selectable SVG text elements. Turning on "Convert to paths" instead outlines every glyph as a vector shape, which guarantees the exact same appearance in any viewer at the cost of no longer being selectable or searchable.

What happens to a scanned page with no real text or vector content?

It still converts - the resulting SVG is simply that page's image wrapped in an SVG shell, and the page is reported as "raster-only" in the fidelity summary so you know it isn't a true vector conversion.

Are fonts embedded in the SVG?

Only if you turn that on, and only for a font that's actually embedded in the source PDF - a standard font your PDF never embedded (most PDFs made from Word or similar) has nothing to embed, so it falls back to a plain font-name reference automatically.
