PDF Edit History Checker

Reveal every incremental edit saved inside a PDF, what each one changed, and which look risky.

A PDF can keep its earlier versions inside the same file: every "save" of an edited document may append a new revision on the end instead of rewriting it. This tool finds those revisions, shows what each one added, modified or removed, estimates when it was made, and rates how risky it looks - content removed but still recoverable, edits after a digital signature, a different producing application partway through. It only reads the file; nothing is changed.

Simple workflow

How it works

  1. 1

    Add PDFs

Add one or more PDFs to the list.

  2. 2

    Analyze

Run the analysis on a file and open its revision timeline.

  3. 3

    Review

Compare before and after pages for any revision, then export a report or rebuild an earlier revision.

Frequently asked questions

Does a "Clean" verdict prove a file was never edited?

No. It means no earlier revisions were found inside the file. A document that was fully rewritten, or re-created from scratch, leaves no revision history to find.

Is content that was deleted really recoverable?

When an editor saves changes as an incremental update, the earlier content stays in the file even though the current version no longer points at it. This tool can extract that content into a separate reference file. A file that was saved in full after the deletion no longer holds it.
